Solar panels - PVs to work


What is solar energy PV? You've heard the term, but you are not sure as to its meaning. You are vaguely aware that solar has something to do with the energy of the Sun. But what is solar energy PV? -Is this different from other types of solar energy?

Solar PV is different from other types. The two main categories of solar energy, active and passive, solar PV is active. Let us dwell on it.

Solar Panel

Active solar relies on solar panels. You can images such as flat, rectangular roof boxes.

There are two main types of solar panels. By far, the two are similar to rectangular boxes. The two convert sunlight into energy, but in two different ways. The conditions for the two types of solar panels are solar thermal collector and photovoltaic module.

1. Solar thermal collector: this Solar Panel takes solar energy from the Sun and uses it to heat air or water.

2 Photovoltaic module: this second type of solar panel collects solar energy and converts it to usable electricity.

Meet the PV

To answer the question, what is solar energy PV, we need to know what is the PV. In short, the answer is that PV is a reference to a photovoltaic module. "P" is for the photo and "V" for voltaic.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines "photovoltaic" in this way.

"of, relating to, or using the generation of a voltage when radiant energy lies on the border between dissimilar substances."

In simpler terms, "photo" refers in the light of the Sun and "voltaic" refers to electrical energy. Photovoltaic panels convert sunlight into electrical energy. The Sun empties into the solar panel. Electrical energy flows out of the solar panel.

A solar PV Panel is composed of numerous photovoltaic cells (light of volts). These cells are electrically connected and then covered with glass. Glass provides electrical insulation. It is also good protection from weather and other destructive forces.

When minimum energy is required, such as those needed to power a small device, a single solar PV Panel is sufficient. When more power is needed, a "table" of solar panels is created by connecting the panels to the other. If the power will not be provided to the electricity grid, the solar panel (s) is connected to a charge controller and battery. If it is intended for use on the grid, the array of solar panels is connected to an electrical inverter.

What is solar PV?

Solar PV energy is solar energy form of light from the Sun, which was gathered by a photovoltaic module converted into usable electricity.

Conventional silicon solar panels convert approximately 14 to 17% of sunlight into usable electricity. This is not much. In late 2006, however, a new solar cell was introduced. The solar panels that use the new cell can convert electricity 22% of the light of the Sun, that they collect. Theoretically, the maximum that can transform a solar panel cells is said to approximately 26 to 27% of incoming solar radiation.

How it works? Let's look at a very simple explanation.

Each photovoltaic cell in a PV solar panel is a semiconductor. When the sunlight hits these cells, a certain part of the sunlight is absorbed by the Silicon cells. Cells take in this part of the energy of the Sun. Transfer cells and solar energy absorbed for electrons in Silicon. The electrons begin to flow, and this creates an electrical current. Metal contacts built at the top and bottom of the PV cells that drain current and it is sent to the grid or battery. It is now usable electricity. The electrical grid it sends on its way, if you used a connection to the grid. If you use a battery, it is stored in the battery waiting for your needs.

Solar PV is increasingly used with great success, and while it is true that the cloud cover can affect the, Germany cloudy country leads the world in use of solar panels.
